The archaeologist is a great laugh - he's warned me he has a nasty habit of unearthing skeletons! In actual fact he is doubtful anything mediaeval will turn up, as he thinks the groundworks won't go deep enough. However, we spent a few hours this afternoon trying to unravel the puzzle that is this house. He's going to try and get a look at old maps of the village to see what buildings are marked pre-1820, if possible. He agrees with me that it looks like there may be an older, smaller building incorporated into the 19th century structure.

Yes, I did get some sort of masochistic pleasure from the last building project. I think if I had the available cash I'd like to take on buildings that nobody else wanted to do up, and bring them back to life. However, unless you are a builder and have endless spare time, you need endless cash instead! Once this build's done, I will have to see what's left for the other jobs that need doing!
I've started to empty the kitchen cupboards and box the food up.

Talk about deja vu!
