I did all the driving - according to the rental company Kendall was too old at 77 to be allowed to drive their car. I've driven in a lot of places and southwest Ireland is about the worst. We had to cover too much distance on narrow winding roads in too short a time. ending up behind a heavy slowed everything right down as there were few passing places, particularly in the glorified roller skate we were in.

The people were great - very friendly and helpful - but Ireland is an expensive place to visit and you need a fair amount of cash as universal use of credit and debit cards hasn't got there yet.
