My son has an occasional mystery gut pain. We've tried to get a diagnosis by getting him to the emergency room when it happens. A couple of times ago the doctor was all set to remove his appendix. "But it happens every so often," we told the doctor. "Well, think of it this way, next time you could rule out appendicitis."

Nope. Not a good enough reason to cut up my kid. We passed on the surgery, and the NEXT time it happened and we tried again the woman agreed - appendicitis doesn't come and go. We went to see a gastro guy and he has a medication to help stop the gut spasms if that happens, but even he didn't have an answer, except sometimes this happens. They think it isn't tied with migraine any more, but I have my suspicions.

MOM, good to see you're up and around today. The kids were letting you sleep in late, I guess. Rise and shine, and have some eggs and bacon, but careful on the bacon, it's really salty this time.
