Thread Name: Help: YOUR Favorite Hymns
Subject: RE: Help: YOUR Favorite Hymns
Hey, we aren't done yet! Traditional hymns: Oh God, our help in ages past (Watts' setting of Psalm 90) Glorious things of thee are spoken (to Haydn's tune, not Jefferson as in the Sacred Harp book. Too good a tune to be ruined forever) Christ our Lord is risen today (Easter Hymn with Alleluias) Lead On O King Eternal-- did nobody netion this because it it is TOO common? Sacred Harp: Northfield (by J. Ingalls, NOT Billings) Greenfields, Amsterdam, Sherburne, Lenox, Murillo's Lesson,David's Lamentation. . .too many to list! Modern gospel: Deep Settled Peace, Wicked Path of Sin, I'll Fly Away, Anchored in Love, Where the Soul of Man Never Dies, Give me the Roses, (can you tell I am a Carter Family fan?)
