Well, I'm back. Spent the weekend at a party, but I feel like I went through a thorough mental examination. Of course, since the honored guest was associated with the local university all of the guests AND her family were all affiliated with academia somehow.

Still, I remember hearing stuff like "pointless mental activity" and "mental dissonance" and "long way to go before it can join us" and "let's re-examine this thing later, much later". Of course, there was this wine-induced fog so I could have misheard a lot of things. I didn't like the "it" comment, though.

And I hope everyone had a good Fourth of July, especially our fellow Americans in Canada.
