Traditionally it begins on Sunday; according to the Radio Times it begins on Saturday, but in my heart the weekend's the weekend, and Sunday's the end of it - known as The Sabbath, indeed, in various parts of Scotland (certainly in old Broons stories) and so the week begins on Monday morning.
