Here are few little additions to the foregoing...
- In another thread I just posted the lyrics of a little Latin ditty I once wrote (it's imbedded in a story I wrote, Laurea illa leaena (Laurie the Lioness)) to this tune:
Salve lea, salve silva!
Estne dies vestra bona?
Bonum vobis vero volo,
Et praesertim Laureae!
Simiarum, aviumque,
Omnium amor ei est:
Venatricum quasi dea,
Nemo eam superest! (English here)- Another German text I'm trying to get ahold of is Brüder, singt ein Lied der Freude by Hermann Oess; I've got the Esperanto translation in my online hymnal, but haven't been able to locate the underlying text. The translator told me a couple months ago he would get it to me, but so far silence... If any of you know where I might find it, let me know! (Or PM).
- I've got a page on my website that has two Esperanto texts (one a slightly simplified translation of the first of Schiller's stanzas, the other an Esperanto-movement pep-rally type song) plus links to others.
- My Esperanto version of "Joyful, joyful, we adore thee".
- My Esperanto version of the Yiddish song "Ale mentshn zaynen brider" (scroll down to see the Yiddish text)... It means (roughly) "All men are brothers / brown yellow black white / peoples countries and climates, / 'tis an old old story. / White black brown yellow / mix the colors all together / all men are brothers / from one father, from one mother."
- And here are links to The Cyber Hymnal's versions of Joyful, joyful, we adore thee and of Hear what God the Lord hath spoken
