leeneia, what version of IE do you have. I have 9.0 and when I uncheck the box "Play sounds on web pages" neither the background music from the site you mentioned in your first post or at the Contemplator play on my system. When I click on a sound file, however, I'm asked if I want to open it or save it (I believe that's because I have "Always ask" set elsewhere in the options).
