As a mommy of a small child, I don't see what the problem is with wearing a reflective jacket. I'd far rather have my child wearing that hideous color than be hit by a car.

As someone who has been a teacher, I can tell you that yes there are always chaperons on school trips but also there are several parents who just want to tag along and enjoy the fun or take photos of their child on the field trip.

If it means keeping my child safe, I'm all for it.
