I love those people dearly but I wouldn't pay for the priviledge of being schooled by them; we're all self-taught & learn by our mistakes anyway, which is a life's work. If I need that sort of guidance I go back to the Old Singers, and the example of some revival ones too, and a world of great voices from other music the world o'er. When I say 'far away from folk' I mean far away from the simple joy of roaring choruses, fags and beer that shaped the voices of generations of great singers. That and the fact that in these times of sharp recession £80 suddenly seems like a lot of money...
