We had this discussion in a previous Llanstock thread, but it should roughly be Clanvair, but with a softer cl as in pickle, rather than click. Put your tongue tip at the back of your front teeth, where they meet the gums, and say cl without moving your tongue. The air should go around the sides of your tongue. That is the best the English speakers are ever going to get at the LL sound.

A single f is pronounced as v. Two f's are pronounced as f. Don't ask me why....

Phoebe would be written as Ffyby. I think I might adopt that spelling, it can't be as bad as some she's had!!
