During the unCivil Ware battle of Seven Pines a pre-determinism preacher took shelter behind a nice big oak. The soldier already there said to the preacher, "Well, reverend, if you were predetermined to got shot you will be shot and if you are determined to escape without injury that too will happen. So why are you taking cover?"

To which the preacher replied, "God predetermined that this nice tree would be here in my time of need."
