Oh, good heavens. At least these wonderful internet thingies at least get them in chronological order! (1) there is probably no better live version than The High Kings (which, if you think about it from a linguistic point of view, is probably equal in sense to 'the Chieftains' ...)and(2) I stand by my earlier statement that the definitive version (of all the wonderful versions that I have heard of my song)is probably Tara MacKenzie's ... who was under the impression, at the time she did it, that this was a traditional Irish song ... which it is, of course ... except it was written by me in 1979. Ooops, oops, oops.
