Spike Woods was my art teacher at school but I also learnt how to play guitar from him, much more successfully! He used to perform each Saturday on Radio Bristol with his fellow musician Ed (can't remember his surname) on the weekly kids' programme. Yes he did come from Nottingham too.

I actually bought Spike's guitar from him in the 70s and owned it till about 6 or 7 years ago when I passed it to my nephew.

Spike is still going strong, loads of his stuff on YouTube and MySpace. He also makes wonderful wooden craft items and other amazing stuff, despite being over 70 yrs old now. I'm still in touch with him via Facebook and general email.
