Subject: RE: Malcolm Price Trio
Have just had a reunion with two friends in canterbury where i now live, Graham Hollins (now in Canada) and John Tisdell ( now in Gosport). We all grew up in Sidcup and knew Malcolm and Carol very well/Although none of us are musicians we were heavily into the music scene, mostly mainstream and modern jazz, but also used to frequent the folk clubs etc and the Roundhouse in London.I rememenber one night with malcolm and Carol when we went to see Rambling jack Elliott, I was living in a flat in chelsea at the time and after a pretty heavy nights drinking they all came back to the flat and slept the night on the floor.
We knew them before they got married. Malcolm and Carol ran away to Cornwall as she was under age at the time .John and Graham went down to see them in Charlestown where they eventually got married after Carols 16th birthday. The trio with Mick North were brilliant and at the time many people tried, to get them to go more commercial (add a drummer)asthey thought they could have been bigger than the Rolling stones, but malcolm remained true to his roots.
If anybody speaks to malcolm will they please pass on our best wishes, and it would be great to hear from him.
I,ll have to try to see Mick as he is now in West malling .
