I have just had the day from Hell! Most of you know I'm a social worker right? And most days have a certain taint of sulphur but today.....oh boy!
First a service user in residential care ( i.e. local authority care i.e. MY care) gets assaulted by another service user and I can't get hold of the parents to tell them this has happened.Then I attend a meeting which tells me all about why I have no more money to spend....ever.......and in fact must get some back ( no suggestions as to how, of course) and then I go to visit a house which even environmental health won't enter.I go in walking and come out crawling ( with little visitors who are decidedly unwelcome).
I have another home visit after that during which I'm afraid to sit down in case I spread my newly acquired 'friends' but cannot explain why, as it would be unprofessional......so they now think I'm quite mad.
I go home, strip as soon as I've closed the front door and head straight for the shower where a closer inspection reveals I am a mass of little red bites.
Please, somebody tell me that their job sucks worse than mine!
