Went to London for the first time in over twenty years. Good grief! The traffic was endless and practically stationary. The buildings were ghastly, great slabs of glass and steel, each one uglier than the last and none built with any consideration as to style or surroundings. Beautiful Wren churches swamped by monstrosities. Scaffolding everywhere. I was ashamed watching tourists wandering about, whatever must they have thought? It all looked scruffy, ugly and crammed with bad design. (Went on a coach trip to Buckingham Palace to see Kate's wedding dress and the State Rooms)
Am I alone in my dismay?
