I spend a bit of time at our office in EC1. It's a bit different to my "other" life in North Lincolnshire!

When you are tired of London you are tired of life, wrote Dr Johnson. And Brick Lane was still fields then!

Possibly the most cosmopolitan city in the world. I have never fully lived there, but at one time spent more time in my London flat than back oop north.

So, nothing has happened to London. I suspect things happen to us which change our perspective. (I used to drive down, now I get the train as I can't be arsed to spend all day in jams, whereas I used to accept them as part of life.)
