No, no intent other than exactly what I said it was. I was irritated quite frankly when I was called a bigot simply for interpreting what I saw and heard - what I would call evidence and drawing reasoned conclusions from that process.
The hope that my observation would/could be taken at face value . . . yes perhaps I was naive as there's very little evidence of that amongst a vocal few.
However, the man in question stands like an island in a tempestuous sea, the tempest stirred by extremists of all ilks, religious, secular and media alike.
We just need another 100 million to follow suit and object to how their belief system has been hijacked.
Naive or not, hand grenade or not - you must draw your own conclusions (you will anyway).
I feel better for acknowledging the guy, having abhorred what his religion seemed to sanction without protest. It's good to see a little balance emerging, for however long.
