Got a call from Susie this afternoon, her husband has back problems that are very painful and he'd fallen. This on top of chemo - talk about insult added to injury. She couldn't get him up by herself (she wanted to get him to the car to take him to the emergency room). I drove right over, heard one of his wails as we tried to lift him and went out on the porch to call the fire department: "Can you come up and help us lift him, and if that doesn't work, which I don't think it will, THEN you can call the ambulance?" It's a small town, and they did come up and I thought they'd have better luck into talking him into the ambulance ride to the hospital downtown where she wanted to take him. They did talk him into letting them call an ambulance and I left before it arrived, bringing Zeke down here to stay so he wouldn't be underfoot and so she doesn't have to worry about him if she's gone for a while. I'm assuming she'll be at the hospital for many hours as they make him comfortable and decide on what needs to be done.

I'll make a batch of blueberry muffins to take over tomorrow, her husband likes those.

I took a big bag of recycling stuff to the bin this weekend - I think next I'm going to take a lot of boxes. I keep them in case I need them for eBay but I haven't used many of them over the time I've been listing there, so I'm going to flatten some and deliver them to the bin this evening. When I brought Zeke down I parked outside the garage - when he's here I don't open the garage door or he charges out of it. Some of what I want to recycle is in the garage, so I'll flatten it and open the door a couple of inches and slide them out underneath. :)
