Moll,
First time I arrived at Taybank -- for a fiddle lesson, having driven 50 miles, blown up the engine 10 miles short, got the last bus to Dunkeld, was greeted by Dougie havin' his tea, who asked whit the problem was. (I was drookit, fair pecht, an' loaded with anything nickable from my car). Within 30 seconds, he'd asked someone to phone the local musos hostel (£8 per night, AND they'll come an' fetch ye fae the pub at shuttin' time!), asked Linda the cook tae mak sure I goat fed, directed me tae the appropriate fiddle teacher fer my standard (beginners!), an' generally made me welcome.
2nd time I turned up, having learned a tune and song specially for his acoustic folk club night, he said - " hey, we've just decided to do the open sess. with a mic. and PA tonite, to train folk tae do it right". On with the brown troosers!..... Tae cap it all, just as I'm aboot tae dae ma spot, he says "Hey, we've just got the streaming link sorted, so we're goin' out live on the net tonite" Change brown troosers!
