I just located two of my favorite all time albums on CD. John Simon's first 2 albums. Only available from Japan, but I got them.

John Simon mostly worked as a producer (The Band's first few albums, Paul Butterfield, and even the Cyrkle-Red Rubber Ball I'll Come Bouncing Back to You.) One album is very Band-like with Richard Manuel (RIP), Rick Danko (RIP), Leon Russell, the background singers of the day-Venetta Fields, Merry Clayton, etc., and a host of others. The second is really jazz with another allstar cast. They still sound as fresh today as they did 30 years ago. Ain't the internet grand!!
