It's better than the alternative just because that's the game that's being played--move into the future, survive, bring your family forward with you, make things happen, move your piece, put on a show in this theater, improvise or recite or whatever.

Dying may be blissful or gruesome or black and empty, but the one thing for sure is, you lose your game when your token is removed from the board. That's why. Has nothing to do with Hebbin or Rinkernation or nuffin' but the losing of the game. The screen goes blank and the thought "Game Over, Man!" gets writ large across the screen. Bummer.
