Does anyone else remember a TV series featuring Bernard Miles as a country scallywag in the 1950's full of rustic humour and country lore. there was a bit at the end when he delivered his addresses over a five bar gate.

There was a theme tune (sung by Bernard Miles) that went

Bessie is my lady

I was about eight at the time. I am just watching Miles on TV in In Which We Serve with Noel Coward.
