Developing cataracts is not necessarily attributable to old age - at the clinic there were two patients still in their 20s - but age is the most common cause.

A few minutes earlier I had commented on the phone that the thing I have noticed most since the cataract removal last week was that my eyesight is much sharper. Then my sis in Oregon and I went on talking.

Suddenly I remembered something that I had noted the last few days and I told her that I am suddenly going gray. I wondered out loud whether the stress of going through the surgery might cause such a thing in just a few days and that at this rate I will end up white haired even though a couple of beauticians had assured me over the years that I would never have beautiful white hair, that I was starting out too late.

Then the coincidental timing hit me. Sis thought of it at just about the same time and we practically rolled on the floor laughing. I have no doubt but that upon my next visit among our friends and family my eyes and I will have become notorious.
