Praise, Jimmy C- and all you other lovely people: George is continuing to take small steps back.(and not so small- when we remember just earlier this week!) Gave a tiny nod when he was asked by his daughter if he knew who she was, has again wiggled his toes on command, sipped a little water today, his temp is just about normal, his blood oxygen level is coming up, they're "gaining on the pneumonia", he's coughing up gunk, they may move him out of icu tomorrow... All marvelous.

Doesn't yet open his eyes. And his blood pressure is still not responding properly, which is worrisome.
