freda, thanks so much for posting all of that. I always love learning about other cultures, esp. here on the Mudcat. The longevity of the Aboriginal Australians is incredible and interesting. I knew their ways were ancient, but hadn't realised just how much.

Is the DVD available to ordinary folk who might find it of interest? The speaking differently to family members, etc. reminds me, sort of, of the strict guidelines the Navajo have regarding which families one may marry into, etc. In the traditional way, when two people meet, they first recite their lineage in order to find out if their lines are compatible. It can get complicated from what I've read. There's more HERE.
