That's right. Silence. You can't have anything without silence, because it is out of silence (or empty space) that everything individually perceivable arises. Without the empty space that they both arise from and enclose, a glass or a house are both useless. Without silence, music cannot exist. Without quieting the mind, enlightenment is not possible.
