At Hendon County School, mid·40s-early·50s, the intro was always sung as

"Where was the goalie when the ball went in the net?
Sitting on the crossbar with his trousers round his neck ~~

They found his bollocks &c"

This was so thruout my schooldays there. The fact that I eventually rose to the honourable position of 1st XI goalkeeper is purely adventitious.
