I was very impressed by Flag Hill's new Pommeau, a fortified wine using apple cider and apple brandy. Lovely flavor! It's billed as a dessert wine, but it's comparatively dry. Very pleasant mellow apple flavor. I put their Karner Blue Gin right up there with Hendrick's -- lots of interesting aromatics. Not a gin I'd like to mix with anything...just sip. (Hmmm...might do that as a nightcap tonight!)

Micca, you probably wouldn't have thought much of The District's wine list...and it's not on their website. But the food was very good and the luncheon prices made it even more attractive. I was especially impressed by their home made tomato ketchup and their home made mayonnaise. I knew they made their own tomato ketchup, but was very nicely surprised by the made-from-scratch mayo.
