Last night I made the last push and have completed a good first draft of my holiday letter, in InDesign. I have one more photo to stick in there and then I'll take the PDF down to a local copy center and have them print it on a nice paper and get these in the mail this week. I can also send it via email.

I also caught up with a friend I haven't spoken to in a while - the kind of friend that when we talk the conversation picks up from the last time even though it has been months. We're going to try to get together this spring in Tucson when I pick up my son at the university. She always used to talk about going there (she's north of LA) because of Air Force reunions her father used to go to, so I think between us we'll have some nice places to visit and share and we'll talk non-stop during the whole visit.

We're back in the realm of errand running and getting things out of the way during these few days off. It's finally sunny today so I hope to get some work in the garden - it's time to plant the Irish potatoes, and transplant a couple of things. And yesterday I picked up bags of topsoil and humus to mix in a big trash can with soil amendments to use in the greenhouse. I received an oil radiator heater for it and will keep the temperature above freezing and get a bunch of stuff started for spring.
