Just aquired a Kindle at Christmas, thanks to a thoughful Santa! The grand plan is to construct a library of older songbooks, some of which I have in hard copy, with a view to easy access whereer I am. Many of these are available through the Internet Archive or Google Books.

Two problems show up on first trials:
1. many of the texts I'm interested in are only/mainly available in PDF format. While most of these seem to load and display correctly on the Kindle 4, others seem to load but display either nothing or a smudgy blank.

2. the Internet Archive provides "Kindle" files as an option but the device does not seem to recognise them. A digital rights issue?

Can any 'catters provide guidance and save me a little of the dogged determination needed to solve these? Any other advice or suggestions?
