Thread Name: ADD: Various Bicycle Songs
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: The Bicycle Song
I was in my sophomore year in high school, l954, when I first heard this song. It had been written, produced and recorded by then so anything after that was not someone's original be it a relative or friend or a popular singer. The original recorded words were:

"I was goin' round the corner doin' 90 miles an hour when the chain on my bicycle broke", and etc.

The song didn't go on forever and there wasn't any vulgarity to it. As far as talent goes, there wasn't much of that either. Just a fun song kids in high school or junior high could sing. It became a popular camp song in the early to mid 50's. Sure enough someone wrote it and it has entertained people ever since.
