A couple of books that I've processed to get off the book shelf might be of interest for someone looking for where to look for a song. It's possible that these might have been listed here before, but I didn't find them with a search.
Those compiling indices are free to move them wherever is appropriate, of course.
Both books were in "well aged" condition, and too fragile to survive as paper. Scanning reduced what was left to "scraps and shreds."
First Book:
BURL IVES SONGBOOK
Front pages through about half of the Table of Contents missing. Ballentine Books (paperback). No ISBN or other publisher data shown on pages remaining, but Amazon & Wiki both show publication 1953.
Table of Contents has been partially reconstructed. Remainder of the book appears complete, although pages in "variable condition."

Joe might want to paste the addition into the previous post, and delete this one.(?)
I managed to scan another: American Ballads: Naughty Ribald and Classic edited by Charles O'Brien Kennedy, Fawcett Publications, NY, 1952, but the OCR didn't work too well on the TOC, so I may be able (or not) to get it posted later. This one is lyrics only, and mostly well know songs, but variations(?) in lyrics might be of interest to some people if I can get it put together.
