There's quite a difference between passing courses and believing what you've been taught. For example, one of my old profs still believes that Walter Whitman, Jr. is the greatest writer America ever produced. The most sensible one once said, "If I monitor a class you're teaching ten years from now and you're feeding them the same stuff I've fed you, I'll go back and change your grade to an F."
