Subject: RE: Declutter & Accountability - January 2012
Closet cleanouts are so much fun. Amid all the hard, dirty work are treasures that have gotten buried (and stuff to send to the thrift shop too).

One treasure on this cleanout was a new, still-bagged microfleece top that I thought matched another one I had opened to use 2-3 winters ago. That one had turned out to be the kind of fleece that attracts and holds too much lint and pet-hair. It lives in my very-cold office.

So I was saving this one for when it wore out (they were very cheap thru a catalog of cheapies)-- for snow-plowing or for emergencies like heat off in ice storms. It's also not my color, the new one I was saving.

Well it was folded so huge, with cardboard, in its plastic bag, that I thought I'd just take out the cardboard and refold it. It turned out to be a totally different item, that will be JUST the thing to put on after wet pool visits, to come home in on the iciest days. It's a different mfr, different kind of fleece, different cut, LONG, and has a zipping funnel-neck.

Sometimes the voice of God has been like a heartbeat saying, "You already have every thing you need." Wotta provider! As soon as I saw the size I was sure it was now too tight-- of course it fits perfectly, now that I took out the elasticized hem (which made it even longer)!!!

And I netted a whole shelf cleared for newer things!!!

Speaking of very-cold office, we insulated that cold foot area a few days ago and skirted the huge table I use as a desk. Under the table has been a lot of well-organized but visually-cluttering stuff. We had found the perfect fabric at a thriftie a few months ago and now it is 90% up. (One end of the table is where I open the long, metal filing cabinet, and Hardi is sewing me the flap for that end.) The working side of the desk remains unskirted, but the skirted side faces the settin' chair and the comfy company chair for hubby, private chats, and/or tea-swilling visitors.

A friend is coming in a few weeks to be a spare-pair-of-hands in the office area... we will organize/declutter the small boxes of old files from which I have been harvesting a binder full of workshop replicables for that portion of Old Career still not available via the internet. (It will empty a capacious shelf in a cabinet in there.) This is a periodic process that beats filing, anytime-- which I have posted about before in some of our earliest declut-threads. The hallway outside that room is also set for a minor revamp, to be sure it all remains visually peaceful as it gains storage bins. And I already HAVE all those materials, too!
