Subject: Mini-meals by Alarm
When I developed the mini-meal strategies particular to our family economy, I didn't know at the time that our household would soon include a diabetic. But because we had that already in place, his diabetic learning curve was a crazy-short one.

Now I'm the one benefiting from what he then learned-- that sometimes WHEN we eat is more important than WHAT we eat, and to set an alarm.

For some folks the internal "I'm hungry" signal never goes off, or has been habitually overridden by other demands to the point where one doesn't even notice it. So for awhile, my ACOA body and brain had to go thru a phase of "Eat as soon as you feel hungry."

Now that this process has run its course, I'm taking on Hardi's structure of eating by the demands of an alarm. The new personal rule is, "eat as soon after the alarm as you can finish what you are doing," in (or course) the smallest reasonable quantity.

I seem to be thinking more clearly with the reduced meds, too, what a coinkydink! ;~)
