Apart from a few little gaffs like space shuttles maneuvering like fighter planes and the idea of blowing up a huge asteroid on a collision course with the earth and turning it into a rain of smaller asteroids to pummel the earth with, it was one helluva movie!

My favorite line in the movie (which I can't remember exactly, but it goes sort of like this):

They're trying to get the stalled shuttle restarted so they can blast off the asteroid before the nuke they planted explodes. Female American astronaut is messing with some electronic equipment. Russian cosmonaut say, "Let me take a look at it." She says, "No, this equipment is classified!" He shoulders her aside and say, "So what!? All this stuff is made in Taiwan!"
