My only real acquaintance with Whitney Houston was in the movie "The Bodyguard," where she sang Dolly' Parton's "I Will Always Love You." That's one of those songs that, between the song itself and the beautiful rich-voiced clarity with which Houston sang it, I found hightly engaging and highly memorable. Not the kind of song I would sing myself (not my genre, nor do I don't think I could bring it off), but a good song, and marvelously, memorably sung by Whitney Houston.

A beautiful woman with a great talent, and a tragedy that she was not able to keep her life together. She deserved better than that.

Frankly, I am disgusted by a couple of people here who came to the wake and, for some petty reason, feel they have to piss in the punchbowl.
