Boy - 'The Emperor's New Clothes' has rarely been so well represented.

A lady in UK nearly burnt her house down lighting a candle and sharing her thoughts with Whitney? Whatever she's on, it must be good stuff.

When you consider it, 'Celebrities' and the like, be they actors, singers or other performers seem to take the place of 'royalty' in the US culture.

Sadly, by definition, these folks are generally paid to not be the people they are! Therein lies the problem when they're promoted as 'cultural icons', the spirit of denial is stunning.
They're human, just like the rest of us, with the same foibles but so much money they can plumb the depths of the human condition.

Flags at half mast for a singer? If I didn't think they were serious, I'd think it was a bad joke. She was a well-known junkie.

There are not a lot of 'legends' about - proper ones like Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie, I certainly don't see Whitney Houston as a legend. Give me strength . . .
