can you be referring to the same Jim Bowie who not only was a slave trader, but actually smuggled in slaves that he "rebought at auction" to make them legal? Who knows? Maybe he once owned an ancester or two of Whitney.

I was never a "fan" of hers, but I do respect the talent she had and lament that her life didn't meet her potential... but that's one of the problems of being a human being... we screw up, some worse than others.
