Some music cheers the soul and lifts the heart. Some music calms the fears we feel, and brings respite and repose. Some music stirs our earliest memories and makes us children again. But the music - if it could be called music - that wafted over the graveyard now was music to freeze the soul, chill the heart, awaken every fear known or imagined, and kill the memory of everything but that dirgeful tune which was seeping around every living creature in the scene.
