I know its such a small detail but one of the threads say that Thomas Sheldrake was born deaf and dumb along with two of his siblings, he wasnt he went deaf after an illness at the age of 3. His speach was not altered by the deafness, though some of his children were also born deaf and dumb and he was a wizz with sign language, in fact the deafness is still in the later stages of the family.
