I ran a couple of errands and then had a nice long visit with Susie this evening. We always have so much to discuss - today I confessed that right after the accident I was so in shock by her condition, and the grim prognosis, that I felt that death would have been preferable to being a vegetable for the rest of her life, if that was what was to come. I couldn't imagine the contrast to the old Susie always being in my mind. She understood - and her daughter said something similar recently. We're all so grateful that she is making such a remarkable recovery.

The rehab folks are slow to respond when she rings for help to go to the loo, so regardless of their rule that only staff help the patients (liability), I made a point of taking her to the restroom before I left. Such small things can make a difference in how good someone feels. She said that when she gets to the point where she is able to put weight on the hip and use a walker she is going to throw a party. Knowing Susie, she'll want to make the lasagna herself! :)

Nice weekend coming up. Dog baths (all three) are on my short list of things to do. Mow the lawn. Short list but a lot of work.

BTW: I think the sulfites in so many shampoos might be the culprit on the hands breaking out. I've been using a couple of types lately that have less sulfites, and they're much improved. I heard an ad on TV this week for one that has no sulfites - I'll go looking for it and report back. I may wear rubber gloves when I bathe the dogs, to avoid the effect of the regular sulfite shampoo I use on them. I suppose I could use my shampoo. Really doesn't make a difference (just costs more.)
