I used to help organise The Grass Roots in Halifax when it was at the Plummet Line I could usually be found taking the moeny at the door.
The club was run by Gus Grenfell aka John Smith.
Many of the artists listed above performed at the Grass Roots and at the Singing Jenny, we often booked singers for the two clubs together.
Haven't noticed Pete Stanley or Nigel Denver mentioned, quite frequent visitors to the club.
