Ok, GtD, I probably put too much reliance on John Mann for myunderstanding of present-day Bradford. It is some years since I spent much time there. This is what Mann wrote after canvassing in the Toller ward:

"...what was particularly disconcerting was having no Muslim doorknockers, no Urdu speaker, no Hijab wearing woman talking to Muslim women voters."

Would you say he's wide of the mark?
