Ah, the tiger economies...

Think it through Bridge.. They rely on exporting to the Western world whilst importing nothing back. For their economies to work, the Western economies must provide the cash, so if we had exchange control, they would be in a pickle.

So rather than "tiger economies" showing that you can work with exchange controls, their success is due to the lack of our exchange controls in the first place!

Mind you, fair do's and all that, if we all had exchange controls, it would be a level playing field, but successive UK governments are not really interested in such a field of play. Whitehall policy still has a whiff of empire about it...
