And here's a question for you. Do you doubt that the peace of mind and sense of true love and completion you (and everyone else who's ever lived) have always instinctively sought can be found inside yourself? If so...if you doubt that it can be found inside yourself...then you'll probably look for it everywhere else, won't you? And not find it. That describes the plight of humanity in a nutshell. They're looking for love and completion outside of themselves and not finding it. This drives them to seek out romance, success, possessions, fame, addictions of all kinds, obsessions of all kinds.

But if you indeed found true love and completion inside yourself...then would you not be in a far better position to have any kind of positive relationship with another?

That is why I look for it inside myself. I no longer believe in the popular fairy tale that someone else's love coming from outside me is going to complete me. Not any longer.

That doesn't mean I won't necessarily opt for a relationship. It just means I don't think it's the real solution to a perceived lack of love and completion. The real solution is genuine inner change, not more outer acquisition. Most of us in this society are completely glutted by this time with outer acquisition, and it hasn't quenched our thirst or met our deeper emotional needs, has it?
