Some friends of mine live out in West Texas now, but one of the things about the places were they live is space. They have 20 acres they initially moved to and started building the various "out buildings," hoping one day to find a contractor they can afford who will go that far out in the boonies to build the big house. Meanwhile, for investment they bought another property out there that has "manufactured housing" on it and some out buildings. They have various hobbies and interests that require space (she has a very large quilting machine that would take up a good amount of my living room and he's always tinkering with the welder and trailers and the tractor, etc.)

I am glad I purchased a portable building from a friend that is a large PVC garden shed and greenhouse. I find having dedicated space for my garden work and equipment is very nice and keeps it separated from the garage and the house. I also have a couple of fridges and a large freezer. Not like under Rap's sundeck, and I'm sure no one would ever occupy any of these upright or chest units. :)
