I respect anyone who goes into the maw of terror and the unknown with their eyes open, whether sailor, soldier, hobo or physicist.

Especially the physical aspects of terror which shake mortal identity down to its bootlaces.

I do think that adrenalin can be so exciting that it can become its own mission and its own brass standard, which I believe is a sad departure from the original path.

Like the difference between one really good martini and a long chain of half-gallons of Thunderbird.
